Reality Coach® Credential

The two levels of Reality Coach™ Certification are outlined below:

Basic Level Requirements

1. Education:  Lecture.  40 hours of Training Calls.
• Verification:  forum participation after each call.  Share key learning from call and post a proactive question to others in the group regarding the topic
• Verification:  Post reply to at least 3 other participants in the forum
2. Education:  Texts.  Read the following four texts:
   1. Warning: Psychiatry Can Be Hazardous to Your Mental Health by William Glasser
      • Verification:  personal blog entry (200 words minimum) after each chapter
   2. Reality Therapy: A New Approach to Psychiatry by William Glasser
      • Verification:  personal blog entry (200 words minimum) after each chapter
   3. Understanding Reality Therapy: A Metamorphical Approach by Robert E. Wubbolding
      • Verification:  personal blog entry (200 words minimum) after each chapter
   4. Using Reality Therapy by Robert E. Wubbolding
      • Verification:  personal blog entry (200 words minimum) after each chapter
3. Knowledge of Procedures that Lead to Change.
• Verification:  Post on personal web space (at Reality Coaching™ website) 1000 word paper on topic of the student's choice related to Reality Coaching
4. Skill development. Participate in 5 Role Plays on Skill Development Conference Calls.
   • Verification:  Blog on 5 key learnings / self-evaluation from each call where you did a role play
5. Practical skill demonstration and integration.
   • Verification:  Post on personal web space (at Reality Coaching website) 4 audio-video recordings of sessions where you were doing Reality Coaching.  Post a written analysis of session using Procedures that Lead to Change terminology.
6. Community Participation.  Peer-to-peer interaction and feedback are critical to the process as students move toward Reality Coach Certification.  This is accomplished through posting comments to other students blog entries and personal web space postings.
   • Verification:  Comment on 80 blog entries of currently active students; comment on 20 personal web space postings of currently active students.
7. e-Portfolio index.  Once a student is prepared for certification they must prepare an index page on their personal web space (at Reality Coaching website) that outlines and links to the requirements above.  Students may wish to maintain an ongoing index throughout their participation toward the Reality Coach Credential.

Advanced Level Requirements

Completed all basic level requirements plus:

   2. The Language of Choice Theory by William Glasser
      • Verification:  personal blog entry (200 words minimum) after each chapter
   3. Counseling with Choice Theory by William Glasser
      • Verification:  personal blog entry (200 words minimum) after each chapter
   4. Reality Therapy For the 21st Century by Robert Wubbolding
      • Verification:  personal blog entry (200 words minimum) after each chapter
3. Practical skill demonstration and integration.
   • Verification:  Post on personal web space (at Reality Coaching website) 4 audio-video recordings of sessions where you were doing Reality Coaching.  Post a written analysis of session using Choice Theory terminology.
4. Skill development. Facilitate 3 Skill Development Conference Calls.
   • Verification:  Blog on 5 key learnings / self-evaluation from each call using Choice Theory terminology.
5. Knowledge integration / expansion. 
   • Verification:  design, create then post to personal web space (at Reality Coaching website) 2 keystone projects (a multi-media presentation) expanding / highlighting  / integrating Choice Theory concept(s) with aspects of coaching.
